【New York】Is the 9/11 Memorial Museum Worth Visiting?

‼️Let's Start With the Conclusion: If you're interested in this part of history, it's highly recommended!!! If you're interested in the stories of the individuals involved in each event, it's highly recommended!!! If you're interested in the construction and architecture of the World Trade Center, it's highly recommended!!!

‼️ Ticket Price: It's included in the Citypass. Tickets can be purchased separately online or on-site. Some folks in the comment section mentioned a price of $68 for reference.

📍Address: 180 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10007 (Next to the World Trade Center subway station)

🌟Historical Background
On September 11, 2001, a series of terrorist attacks took place at the World Trade Center in New York City, where two airliners hijacked by terrorists crashed into towers one and two. Both buildings collapsed following the attacks, and another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington DC later, damaging the structure causing it to collapse. The 9/11 Memorial Museum is dedicated to remembering those who lost their lives in these attacks.

🌟Museum Exhibits
Above ground level, two enormous pools mark the original footprints of the Twin Towers with marble slabs engraved with the names of those who perished located beside them. The primary exhibition, located underground, consists of photographs, videos, texts following a chronological order of the 9/11 events. Exhibits include remnants of the planes that crashed into the buildings, footage documenting the impacts, recordings of distraught crowds during the rescue, last phone calls from the victims, and personal stories.

🌟Exhibition Atmosphere!
The entire exhibition is underground, dimly lit, with spotlights cast on all exhibits, giving an eerily dark ambiance. Visitors can't help but feel heavy-hearted, grieving not just for the architectural marvel that can never be replicated, but also for the countless vibrant lives lost. All visitors are silent, either listening intently, walking slowly, or staring, creating an atmosphere of solemn respect and empathy. On exiting, the newly built World Trade Center, an architectural pearl white phoenix-like marvel inspires hope of rebirth, a promise to cherish life and move forward.

⭐️[ No day shall erase you from the memory of time」I prefer to interpret this as: Even if the whole world forgets you, time will remember you.

Tips: You can download the app, "9/11 Memorial Audio Guide", for a free audio guide available in Chinese. On-site guided tours require an additional fee.
